In His circumcision Jesus (the covenant keeper) meets the demands of real righteousness which become ours (the covenant breakers) through a real imputation by faith in him (the covenant redeemer). Therefore, for the true Christian the only sufficient (adequate) and efficient (effective) object of faith is Jesus.
