Stop it!

We are an anxious people in an anxious world. A people unable to master our own hearts and wills, much less the world around us. Jesus knows how anxious we are. To anxious people he says, “Don’t worry. Your Father has everything well in hand.”

But seek first the kingdom of God and his
righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:33

The Fifth Sunday in Lent
Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Sunday’s Readings
Hebrews 12:1-3, 18-24
Psalm 8
Matthew 6:19-34

Questions to Consider
